Santiago Stone was a top 30 finalist in the Broadcom M.A.S.T.E.R.S. (Math, Applied Science, Technology and Engineering Rising Stars) National Science Fair. Broadcom M.A.S.T.E.R.S. is the premier science and engineering competition for middle school students. Santiago’s project, Alternative Flooring for the Impoverished, tested the best concrete mixes, 5 with alternative coarse aggregates and one traditional, to determine their properties and find a viable, economical, and eco-friendly material for flooring for the impoverished.

At Notre Dame Preparatory School’s Egg Drop Challenge 2017, one team from St John the Evangelist won Most Creative. This award goes to the top group who used their materials in a unique way to make a protective case for a raw egg. Our 5th grade girls made their egg capsules out of recycled/reused materials which they decorated.
